Challenging the Foundations of Restorative Dentistry
The program will focus on evidence-based benefits and short comings of available restorative materials and bonding systems. The objective is to clarify decisions about the best material to use in a specific clinical situation. Minimally invasive restorative procedures will be presented using techniques that have evolved over more than 20 years in a private practice where predictability is essential. The program will take the approach of pharmacologically assisting a tooth’s physiological response to caries rather than the amputation of repairable tooth structure.
Fifth Quarter Seminars is happy to furnish a list of available lodging at Lake Tahoe.

Hot topics in Esthetic Dentistry
Many new ceramic systems have been introduced to the market, low fusing porcelains, pressable glass systems, and CAD-CAM systems. Clinical guidelines for use of these new systems will be given. Included are indications for no prep veneers and dealing with more aggressive solutions where dentin must be exposed. The presentation includes the most effective use of computerized shade taking systems. Comparisons will be made to visual shade taking. Included is the use of new shade guides and how to effectively communicate the shade with the laboratory.
